INTRODUCTION

Modern slavery encompasses the recruitment, transportation, harbouring, or receipt of individuals, whether they are children, women, or men, through the use of force, coercion, exploitation of vulnerabilities, deceit, or other means with the aim of exploitation. This heinous practice constitutes a crime under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, which includes activities such as subjecting individuals to slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, or facilitating their travel with the intent to exploit them in the near future.

Modern slavery represents a serious violation of human rights and exacts a heavy toll on the physical and mental well-being of survivors.

OUR COMMITMENT TO THE PRINCIPLES OF THE MODERN SLAVERY ACT 2015

At ProTrainings, we are fully committed to upholding the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the complete eradication of modern slavery and human trafficking.

As an equal opportunities employer, we are dedicated to fostering a working environment that is non-discriminatory and respectful. We want all our employees to feel secure in reporting any wrongdoing without fear of reprisal.

Our recruitment and personnel management processes are meticulously designed to ensure that all potential employees are legally entitled to work in the UK, and to protect employees from any form of abuse or coercion.

We categorically refuse to engage in business with any organisation, both in the UK and overseas, that knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, enslavement, or forced labour.

OUR SUPPLY CHAIN

Due to the nature of our business, we assess our risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chains as low.

Our supply chains are restricted, and we source goods and services from a limited number of suppliers, both within the UK and abroad.

OUR POLICIES IN RELATION TO THE MODERN SLAVERY ACT 2015

All our staff have access to the following policies:

  • Code of conduct
  • Ethics policy
  • Whistleblowing policy
  • Bullying and harassment policy
  • Diversity and inclusion policy
  • Recruitment and selection policy

EMBEDDING THE PRINCIPLES

We are committed to further embedding the principles by:

  • Providing comprehensive training to staff on the Modern Slavery Act 2015, along with guidance on the appropriate actions to take when suspecting a case of slavery or human trafficking.
  • Ensuring that staff involved in procurement activities are well-informed and adhere to modern slavery procurement guidelines on GOV.UK.
  • Incorporating considerations of modern slavery risks and prevention into ProTrainings’ policy review process as both an employer and procurer of goods and services.
  • Ensuring that ProTrainings' procurement strategies and contract terms and conditions explicitly reference modern slavery and human trafficking.
  • Continuing to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against modern slavery.
  • Providing training to staff involved in modern slavery and ethical employment practices.
