Regulated Qualifications and ProTrainings Qualifications

ProTrainings offers two different types of qualifications. The first we call a ProTrainings Qualification (Pro). These are qualifications that have been designed 'in-house,' independent of an Awarding Organisation, and are not regulated by a UK Regulator. The certificate given to successful learners will only contain the ProTrainings logo. Learners should not confuse a 'ProTrainings Qualification' with a 'Regulated Qualification'.

A 'Regulated Qualification' is a qualification that is provided through an Awarding Organisation recognised and regulated by one of the UK Regulators (eg. Ofqual in England or SQA Accreditation in Scotland). The certificate of achievement awarded to successful learners will contain the logo of our chosen Awarding Organisation, Training Qualifications UK ("TQUK"), and the relevant UK Regulator along with the full qualification title and number.

A Regulated Qualification is often required by learners/Organisations for funding purposes. A Regulated qualification is often regarded of higher value to an 'in-house' qualification, as the certificate for a regulated qualification demonstrates that the learner has attained a qualification approved by both a UK Regulator and recognised Awarding Organisation. ProTrainings courses are usually offered in three different formats: online, blended and classroom. Each format presents the same information but through the different mediums. Each format, while having its own advantages and disadvantages, maintains the same high-quality standards of all courses.

Online Training

ProTrainings' e-learning courses are video based and not slide based. This puts the student with a qualified instructor having their best day, in a 1 on 1 setting. Training comes in short subject-based segments that are able capture relevant environments as it pertains to the student. Each group of subjects then has a pre-test section where the student confirms comprehension. This is followed up by a scenario based test that not only challenges but remediates the student when an incorrect answer is given. Students are also able to train wherever and whenever they like and courses generally cost much less than traditional classroom courses.

Classroom Training

Classroom training has been the primary method of Health & Safety education for ages. classes are taught by certified instructors that maintain the highest standards. ProTrainings has hundreds of instructors across the United Kingdom who are able to adapt to any variety of training needs. In addition, ProTrainings provides Instructor training thru ITG, which allows companies to provide in-house classroom training. Some courses, such as first aid at work, require the classroom format.

Blended Training

Blended learning is a combination of the traditional classroom and e-learning formats. Students will complete a part one segment through an e-learning course that will give them the vast majority of the cognitive knowledge. Next, the student meets with a certified skill-evaluator or instructor to complete the part two segment, which contains hands-on practical practice of the skill. This method of learning utilizes the learning advantages of both educational formats, while providing increased flexibility and lower cost than a 100% classroom option.

Course Accreditation

Different formats will have varying levels of accreditation. For example, our ProPaediatric (Paediatric First Aid) course is available in 100% online, blended and 100% classroom formats. However, only the blended and classroom versions are accepted by SURE START and OFSTED, while the 100% online option is a good option for other organisations or someone wanting to learn the material on their own. Just because a format is not accredited by an institution does not mean that the education of that program is low quality. It merely reflects that institution's current policy, their comfort with e-learning, or that the program is still in the approval process.
